I Can See

I Can See

Mark 8:22-25

I sketched this initial rendering of the Art Parable "I Can See" in 1996.  The more I study scripture the more I see Jesus in the Old and New Testament accounts.  When I sketched the drawing "I Can See" I put a suggestion of the nail pierced hole in Jesus' hand. As I drew the wound, I wondered why? He had not been crucified yet when He healed the blind man of Bethsaida.
And now many years later, I can see "Why"
Consider John 9..Jesus came to open blind eyes. To those who were once blind, He opens our eyes physically and spiritually. The world may not understand, the Pharisee may judge. Yet our deliverance through Him and His shed blood causes us to declare as the blind man declared.
John 9:25..One thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.

John 9:32 Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind.

In essence we ALL are born spiritually blind. We have need for Jesus to touch our eyes of understanding. We see Jesus using his spit and clay to heal the blind man in Mark and John's gospel accounting. I see a creative miracle because man is made of the dust of the earth.

The first time God touches us is when we are created in our mothers womb. Our understanding is dim and we "see men as trees walking."
But He came to redeem us, to restore us to perfect fellowship with God, the Father.
If you will receive Him, turn your eyes and your heart to Him, He will open your eyes.
He will touch your eyes a second time at your new birth and you will see Him clearly.

Mark 8:22-25 And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and be-sought him to touch him.
And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought.
And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.
After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.

Prayer:
Ephesians 1:17-23 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
Which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all.

In Jesus name. AMEN
