Following the Dragonslayer

Imagery and our response to it can be powerful in its ability to refocus our attention.
For the disciples the sight of Jesus on a cross had to have been emotionally crushing. Beholding the One in whom all their hope of a better life,of healing and freedom was there before them hanging on a cross.
Although Jesus had told them beforehand the details and gave them assurance that it was expedient that He go away.
That it was for their good. It was for our good.
Yet, the imagery of a bloody, bruised Jesus must have been bewildering to His followers.

Devastating, until the third day!

I love that Christ Jesus did not leave that beaten, bloody image as the final one.
He rose again and they were given the gift of seeing Him whole and one day every eye shall see Him.

The art parable "Following the Dragonslayer" is one of the ways I see Him. If you would like to see part of the creative process for this parable click here.
Revelation says that he is the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, yet appears as a Lamb that was slain. ( Revelation 5:5,6)

Isaiah 27:1 In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.
*Read the beauty contained in Isaiah 51-55

Revelation 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

Matthew 16:21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised agin the third day.

John 10:4-5 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

John 10:27-30 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
I and my Father are one

The Mind of Christ

The Mind of Christ -Art Parable © 2023 Debbie Turner Chavers I asked God for specific leading in praying for someone who suffers from mental instability and demonic forces/control.  As I began to pray the Lord showed me a lamb/sheep with its head glowing. It was as though a light was emanating from its entire head. The light glowed brilliantly yet was brightest on the crown of the head. As I saw the image I heard the scripture “ the mind of Christ”. I was reminded of the scripture in : 1 Corinthians 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. I encourage you to pray the Word of God and plead the blood of Jesus Christ over those you love or care about.  After praying the Word over them began to thank God for healing their mind and returning them to their first love of Christ if they were previously born again. In all cases ask God to give them to His Son, Jesus Christ.(see John 6:37) I pray that the visual reminds othe...

Pentecost, One Accord

Pentecost   © 2023 Debbie Turner Chavers Acts 2:1-4 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.  And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.  And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:17-21 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke: The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the m...

Daniel’s Vision-Daniel 2:19-23 and Daniel 2: 27-45

Art Parable -Vision of Daniel 2: The Fourth Kingdom © Debbie Turner Chavers June 3, 2024 as I fell asleep I saw a quick image that startled me awake.  I saw a line of fire and two feet made of metal and clay with legs attached descending from the sky. I immediately thought “ That looks like the statue’s feet from the book of Daniel! (chapter 2 verses 40-45)  The line of fire appeared first, then I saw the lower legs and feet descending above it. I quickly looked up the scriptures about the statue. I was not reading or studying the book of Daniel at that time. Yet I believe the vision was to turn my attention to these particular scriptures. The kingdoms of this world will end. Be ready.  Have your lamps full of oil and trimmed, no man knows the time of the Lord’s return, yet He shall return for his own. As it states in Daniel 2:45 “and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof is sure. The fourth kingdom shall happen, possibly on the horizon.  Times and sea...
